Future Plans for the Rating System

We’re Updating the jovoto Rating System

jovoto was created to enable you and other creative talents from around the globe to work together and develop your ideas in a fair and collaborative way. One major aspect that sets jovoto apart from agencies or other creative work environments are the jovoto Community Prizes.

The Community Prizes were invented to empower you. We value your hard work and opinions- and believe it’s only fair for you to have your say. By rating and giving feedback on your fellow community member’s ideas, you can signal: if they are doing a great job, if they should go further with the idea, how they can develop to make it even better or if they should try to come up with something else instead. And above all, the Community Prizes allows you to award the ideas that you thought were the most creative & solved the problem in the best way.

We firmly believe that Community Prizes are a part of jovoto DNA, and reading your comments in the discussions, we know many of you think so as well.

In my opinion community prices should be mandatory! They are the foundation of jovoto system and every creative out there associate jovoto with community voting and community prizes. If you took them away, jovoto won’t be the same place anymore. There are a lot of other design platforms where the client is the only one who chooses, but so few where creatives themselves can vote and rate their ideas. So, the community prizes and voting system should stay forever, if jovoto wants to keep its identity.”

This is one part of our striving to be the fairest creative platform there is, so when we hear that in some cases our rating system is not fair, it has really motivated us to find a fair solution for this problem.

Since the end of 2015, the jovoto team has grown (actually we’ve doubled in size!) and with the added resources of our 14 new team mates, we are ready and able to take on the challenge of finding a solution and giving the rating system and prize structure a well needed update.

The image above is from our meeting on Thursday February 11th, where with the help of your feedback gathered in the most recent discussion thread and in comments over the past years. We discussed your feedback and suggestions, ranging from: more community prizes, additional smaller Client’s Choice prizes, anonymous vs. more transparent rating and so on. We established the major points of your frustrations and weak spots that exist within the current structure.

This was the first step.

Next, we will move ahead to set goals, broken into short and long term solutions. Once we’ve done that, we will involve the community to discuss the solutions to gain your feedback. From there, we will test new solutions by test running them on the platform. At this point, we will gather more feedback to find out if these updates help to solve the issues we have established. Depending on your feedback, we’ll implement the best fitting solution(s) that we have developed together.

This is all very exciting (for all of us!) but such big changes do take time, but the ball is rolling and with a larger team, we will make it happen in 2016!

I’m looking forward to work with my team and the you, the jovoto creative community to continue  improve our work environment to be the best and fairest online creative platform out there!

Feel free to add your feedback in this discussion board.

A special thanks to all of you who have been proactive in moving this forward. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and give us in depth feedback.
